After a hectic week in Berlin, it was time for some “Me Me” time over the weekend. I felt bit lonely without my family around. With no scheduled plans, I decided to visit my favourite place in Berlin – The Mayurapathy Murugan temple. The day appeared gloomy with continuous showers and spine breaking wind! Yet, I decided to visit this temple as I was at the closure of my project and was sure I may not be here for next one year.

I rolled myself in thick winter jackets and a scarf and held the large umbrella that the hotel offered. I walked out and my fingers holding the umbrella became numb. How I wished to hold a hot plate! I checked the bus schedule and saw that there were 20 minutes for the next bus – reminded of the less frequency of buses on weekends in this area!

Should I sing a melancholy at the gloomy weather or the wind that poked my spine?? I increased the volume of my ear phones to listen to my favourite tunes! “Boom Boom Robo da!” – rhythms seemed to heat up my blood! 20 mins didn’t seem long anymore as I started nodding to the tunes. The bus arrived!

After about 20 minutes I transferred myself to the connecting train. The trains seemed to be busy and zoomed at a speed of a jet, I felt! This doesn’t seem gloomy anymore. The sky isn’t crying but just giving bath to her kids – the earth and the seas. As I smiled, the station arrived. I walked to see the lush green grass and trees with water droplets on them. The chill breeze kissed me “Good morning”.

As I entered the temple, the sounds of the bells, the religious chants, the fragrance of flowers brightened me more. I was mesmerised by the energy waves I felt within me. Looking at my favourite God made me feel great. The smiling lips and the raised hands seemed to be the one for me. After spending some good time there, I walked out again.

The weather was still the same but this time I didn’t feel to sing a melancholy. The bright day was just painted grey – and grey is a colour too! The path wasn’t watery but just neat. The cars weren’t dusty but clean. The wind wasn’t annoying but only bringing in the freshness of nature. The rain drops weren’t pricking but only awakening my spirit. My hands weren’t numb but only adapting to a new challenge.  The week prior was not a hectic one but only a super fast busy one! I wasn’t lonely but enjoying the bliss of solitude!

How true that the power of words have a great impact to turn every negative thought to a positive one! I smiled and waved goodbye to Berlin!
