Passion is the answer

“Hey Subha. Don’t you go to the food court?” asked Diana. “No, I usually bring home food and have quickly” I smiled. “How’s ABC initiative going? I’m sorry I couldn’t participate” – she said and I smiled. “My manager asked me “don’t you have enough work?” when I first told that I’m a part of it” she winked – “hmm yet another comment” I sighed!

As I got into my auto way back home, the conversation with Diana made me smile. This is not the first time I heard this and she was not the first one.

What is an extra initiative and when would you do it? I enjoy writing and most of my posts are done while I’m in the auto in the morning or evening. Some at times at midnight. A challenge I posted onto myself is “one shot writing” to write blogs in one go and publish without a review. I read it after a couple of days to reflect what pure thoughts I had then! I enjoy every bit of it. I also have a practice of writing when I’m down or stressed to re-energise myself.

Communication and collaboration are my passionate areas is what I understood over a period of time. Not that I slip on my project delivery which is of course my priority. However at times when you’re stressed, you need an outlet which doing a passionate job will bring in.

Another aspect we hear often is “someone does something for a reason” and this reason is manipulated or understood as “visibility” which I strongly like to debate.

It’s true that someone may do something with a motive or a reason – and that to me is happiness. Well, when you’re happy about doing something you like or rather doing something makes you happy, you will find time to do it at any cost. Today I was craving to write on this topic and I’m doing it from my auto – and this definitely keeps me happy.

Now “where does time play a role here?” – “Time according to me is willingness”. If you are passionate about something and truly have a willingness to do it, nothing can stop you for sure. You’ll find out ways to do that for sure.

There maybe people longing for visibility or rather pushed to do something extra – agreed. But beyond that the quality comes into picture when you do things passionately. You no longer need a push but rather you would voluntarily go for it.

Next time someone sarcastically asks you “don’t you have enough work that you’re doing this”, you can just smile and answer “The grapes are not sour for me as passion is one word answer!”
